Beep. Beep. Beep.

It was the dead tone. Again!

Lucy, frustrated, threw her cellphone down. Sitting on the ground, she leaned back against the tire of the car, which was rammed into construction roadblocks. It was useless, there wasn’t any signal here. It was like she had fallen off the face of the earth.

Even her favorite little radio was cut off from the world. It was said to get signals anywhere, and wasn’t cheap. Now all she got was white noise. She wanted to kick the person who sold it to her.

She had been by the wrecked car for about an hour now, waiting, for someone, anyone, to come by. She had waited so long and was so desperate that she wouldn’t care if a chainsaw maniac in a diesel truck stopped to help.

She was worried about a lot of things.

’Wonder where my parent’s are…wonder if they even noticed us missing…wonder where Jason went…He might be……’

She clutched the handgun, stained with dried blood, in her hands.

’No…he’s not dead…’

Ever since she had found the handgun, covered in blood lying on the driver’s seat, she couldn’t stay calm. She went into a panic trying to contact her brother’s cell phone, only to remember it didn't do any good. During her search for anything that could point her in the right direction, she found her brothers phone in the car. Figures.

Lucy figured no one could even see her anyway. The fog was so thick and heavy that she could hardly see anything. She wrote in her journal to keep her sanity together, feeling to scared to leave the car. ‘someone will come….soon…’ but no one ever did.

The only thing she did notice, the only recognition of civilization, was a single sign on the side of the road beside the wreck. A sign that said-

‘Welcome to Silent Hill’

It was old and torn up, but still, it was a sign. Her hope…..her only hope.

Maybe Jason went there to get help…but if he did, wouldn’t he come back?

Wouldn’t he BE back by now!?

Lucy had no choice. She had to do something. She took her big messenger bag and stuffed her belongings in it. She took her cell phone, just in case it picked up service; her radio, in case it caught a signal in town; She put the gun in carefully, because she couldn’t seem to leave it behind; her brother’s cell phone too, because you never know.

The last thing, her journal…She couldn’t just leave it, but halfway through trying to cram it in, she quickly whipped it out again and tore out a blank page. She grabbed her pen and wished for the most eligible handwriting she could write;

To whoever gets this-

I left to go into Silent Hill. If you have this letter, please call my number-746-4357.

Jason-
If you find this, I went looking for you in Silent Hill…

She sort of trailed off…she didn’t know what else to put.

….please….don’t leave without me.

-Lucy

That was all she could put. After placing the note carefully under the windshield wiper, she crammed her journal back into her bag, along with the pen. She searched the car for anything she might have missed, but there wasn’t much left. She grabbed her big coat from the passenger seat, grabbed her bag, and took one last look at the car.

There was no way of driving it. She didn’t even know if it was fixable; the damage was pretty bad. Even if it was drivable, there was no use, the keys were missing.

So she stepped on, into the only chance she had of getting out of this situation.

She apparently….had never been to Silent Hill before.
